OVERVIEW: RC4wd
is offering Extended Punisher Shafts for the XTM
X-Factor.
If you are going to mod your X-Factor for more travel with longer links,
Look no further. You can stretch your
truck 2" to 3" and
these shafts will work perfectly.
CONSTRUCTION & FEATURES:
These extended shafts not only look beefy, they
are beefy. Made from industrial grade hard stainless steel,
they are designed to handle some heavy-duty use and torque. The mainshaft
is a whopping 14mm in diameter! They make the stock units look sickly
(see picture below for comparison).
The splines
are well done and the shaft halves slide smoothly, no binding to be
had. RC4WD puts a nice coating on these parts and it should
keep them looking good for a long time. The universal joints are metal
and thick, in fact everything is metal and thick! There are plastic
parts on these shafts at all....no weak links!
RC4WD lists the specs as follows:
- Max shaft travel length:30mm (1.18 inch)
- Closed Length: 120mm (4.72inch)
- Open Length: 150mm (5.90inch)
ASSEMBLY / INSTALLATION:
I installed them on my extended travel electric X-Factor Crawler. This
is a no modification installation, everything is a direct fit. The installation
took no more than 5 minutes and was effortless. The set screws
required to lock the shafts into place are included.
PERFORMANCE:
If you've seen any of my videos than you know I don't go easy on any
RC at my disposal. I tested the shafts for 2 solid hours under extreme
conditions and they look perfect. The power transfer is much smoother
than the stock shafts which squeaked and bound.
FINAL RECAP:
Note that you get both the front AND rear shafts in this package from
RC4WD so only one package is required per truck. Engineered and
